Location of Borobudur Temple

Borobudur Temple is located in Borobudur District, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The location is approximately 100 km southwest of Semarang, 86 km west of Surakarta and 40 km to the northwest of Yogyakarta.

Borobudur is located on a hill on a plain surrounded by two mountains, namely Mount Sundoro and Mount Subing in the north-west and northeast sebelingi Mount Merbabu and Mount Merapi.

To the north is the Tidar hill and nearer to the south there is a range of Menoreh hills. Borobudur Temple is also located between the confluence of two rivers, namely Progo River and Sungao Elo in the east.

Borobudur Entrance Fee

To be able to enter Borobudur Temple we are charged entrance fee of Rp. 35.000 / Adult and Rp. 25,000 / child ages. While foreign tourists are charged USD 20 tariff.
